Well, we mostly play your arrangements!! :)

The 6th graders play chord progressions, we work on sticking and proper playing positions and they play very simple rounds and folktunes that we "jazz" up with solo sections and different voicings on repeated sections.  They also play your "Blue Samba" and LOVE it.

The 7/8th graders are playing "Party Time", a tune by Carl Chase, your "Spin Cycle" and "Under the Sea" and they play around with things like "Super Mario" and an arrangement of CeeLo Green's "Forget You" that I put together.  They do not get to meet nearly as much as the 6th grade group I have.

The faculty band has played "Jamaica Farewell", an arrangement of Taio Cruz's "Dynamite" that I put together, and they're now working on your arrangement of "Margaritaville".  This is just a fun group that comes together when we can.  We played in our school's talent show and will hopefully find another chance to play this year.

wow , i am so honored.  our hs group meets everyday and has 2 leads, 2 second, 2 guitars,  a 6 bass and tenor bass with drum set.  we play a lot of my stuff, obviously, and hope to do more  of other people, but there is no budget for our entire music dept.  and i MEAN none.

Pan Kat

Alternate Mode Pan KAT

Up for auction is a Pan KAT Midi Steel Drum that I used to play reggae tunes.  I have had the Pan KAT for 10 + years but really only used it for about a year to play solo steel drum and some Jimmy Buffett tunes for friends (I am a guitar player).  The original unit cost about $1,800 without the case and I am offering it up for $825 plus shipping.  I used an older Roland MIDI sampler (not included) for the steel drum sounds but IndigiSounds (YouTube link…

Advanced pan technique

So there are lots of books and videos on how to play pan - all the ones I've seen are for beginners. Anybody know of Advanced technique books? I see LiamTteague does a beginner book- I would love for him to do one for more advanced players.
