What would you estimate is your most requested song?

I would say that Yellowbird or Margaritaville is the most requested song. One gig, a particularly friendly patron could name practically EVERY song we played.. no matter how obscure the tune.  lots of fun to try to stump him.  only when we got to my originals did he claim ignorance.

usually the song I played 2 songs ago.  I say didn't you hear it???  They say no.  hmmmmm.

i agree... i've even been PLAYING the one they are requesting and they do not realize it.

Well we always play sets already preorganised, but people most enjoy Bohemiam Rhapsody or Palladio !!

For me, it's ALWAYS Yellowbird, it gets requested at just about every show.  Must be that great backtrack from Kent!!  :)

The first song I wanted to learn was MARGARITAVILLE, which is pretty popular and i highly recommend it.

When I played my first paid gig this past summer, a woman was so ANNOYING,  she asked me about 6 times if i could play YELLOWBIRD, which i could not.   so, when i texted my teacher the next day to ask if he could teach it to me. of course, he did.

except, i wish i could find that lady and tell her now that i can play it for her .   lol

isn't that the way it always goes?  for me at least.. i finally learn a tune and then they are nowhere to be found..lol

seeking backtracks and sheet music

I play double tenor and am looking to buy quality backtracks with corresponding sheet music to add  to my repertoire. I'm a strict reader and weak with improv.  Brad Shores has been a Big help and I have all 9 of his books.  Any other suggestions for expanding my repertoire?  Thanks!

Pan Kat

Alternate Mode Pan KAT

Up for auction is a Pan KAT Midi Steel Drum that I used to play reggae tunes.  I have had the Pan KAT for 10 + years but really only used it for about a year to play solo steel drum and some Jimmy Buffett tunes for friends (I am a guitar player).  The original unit cost about $1,800 without the case and I am offering it up for $825 plus shipping.  I used an older Roland MIDI sampler (not included) for the steel drum sounds but IndigiSounds (YouTube link…
